On face value you might be thinking a little 30-40 team jackpot for $10,000 isn't much to talk about, but in relation to translating this $525,000 in earnings to the breeding barns, it is pivotal. Below are the eleven teams who roped four steers. There were six more ropers, who placed in go rounds.

Congratulations T.J. Good, Marietta, OK, an outstanding roping placing 3rd and 5th in the 12.5. on a 6-year-old Woody Be Tuff gelding, "Woodie". Woodie was getting there fast all day long.
Brooke Wilson of Wilson Cattle Co, Canyon, TX, won 2nd in the 11.5. She loves the Lazy E Arena and had another great day there like she did at the 2022 Riata Championships. Brooke always has a good one under her and on this day, it was "Cr Tuff Stylish Rey" aka Joker.
That "other" Marietta, OK, roper, Joseph Harrison won 2nd in the FEIST along with the short go-fast time, and "Heel Horse of the BFI". If you saw the TRJ social media videos on that "Nu One Time Blues" you can't help but be impressed. Just one in a string of wins for this duo as they bring spectators to the fence on every run.
Jeff Sanders from Blum, TX did it the hard way to get that Riata Side Pot fourth place check. He collected $34,250 winning 6th in the 10.5, 4th and 9th in the 9.5, and a rotation fast time in the 9.5. Jeff was on "A French Fling" out of A Streak Of Fling.
NOT ENTERING THE SIDEPOT for any number of reasons still results in reported earnings. First and foremost is "Cowboy Sangria", by Cowboys Cartel, owned by Guy and Shanna Howell, carried Kaled Driggers to his win at the FEIST for $75,000; Tripp Townsend won $40,000 for second in the 9.5 riding Riata Stallion TRR Lucky Brazos. Leo Amado won the 10.5 and placed in the 12.5 to win $79,500. "Cats Play More" is a Bet Hesa Cat horse purchased at the Riata Showcase Sale. Rodey Wilson won $6,000 for 11th in the #12.5 on Pappy Gun, by Pepcid. We absolutely will report this extra $200,000 in earnings to QData, and anyone else riding a Riata who might have placed at this roping if you let us know.
QUALIFIED FOR THE $100,000 - After this roping we have 77 horses qualified to enter the $100,000 Bonus side pot bonus at the Riata championships in Guthrie. Next $10,000 side pot is the 2025 USTRC Championships, April 20th to the 27th in Fort Worth. If you haven't entered a side pot yet and want a chance at that $100,000 Bonus in September, you had better start thinking about it.
