Producing Ultimate Athletes

Hillbilly Hallows is a small ranch in Alberta, Canada. Hallows is a sacred place so it just was the perfect name. Robin Walker grew up horseback. She is a barrel racer and started team roping again after 10 years to turn steers for her son. She is a mother of a 9-year-old daughter, and 4 sons; a roper, a mountain man, a bull rider, and a rough stock rider. Hauling her kids to compete in amateur rodeos, she needs well broke, all-around horses that can be used for more than one event.

Robin's Riata Buckle Stallion, Big Shine In Cowtown is out of Shiners Nickle x Lil Lena Long Leg. His Dam is a NCHA Million-dollar mare. He was purchased from Michelle Cannon as a 3-year-old. Big Shine In Cowtown is constantly evolving and has thus far exceeded all expectations. His offspring shows the same potential early on. Robin took the plunge when choosing to breed to mares including her mare FOLS DREAM OF CASH who has produced several CFR barrel horses and an AQHA world champion.

"My goal is to produce the ultimate athletes that can do everything, by marrying barrel racing and team roping horses."

Big Shine In Cowtown even caught the eye of recent NFR heeler, Jeremy Buhler. He's quickly adapted to Jeremy's distinct and independent style of roping. That is a testament of his disposition and willingness to switch directions and still have a kind mindset.

"I feel thankful for the opportunity to showcase my stallion, his offspring and to promote rope horses in the Riata Buckle Program," said Robin. "And to be able to wave the Canadian flag while doing so. I am living my dreams. I can't put words to it. I'm looking forward to what the next few years bring to the industry."
