Breeding Excellence with Triple C Performance Horses

The Colgrove family of Triple C Performance Horses in Boligee, Alabama is home to two 2024 Riata stallions, Catolena Cashin In and CR Gotcha Covered. The Colgrove's focus is on high quality horses with exceptional bloodlines and athletic abilities. The family is well established in the National Cutting Horse Association. Now, due to their passion for roping, they're focusing on the team roping arena.
Founder of Triple C Performance Horses and 2014 NCHA Futurity Amateur Unlimited Champion, Joel Colgrove turned granddaughters, Blakely and Madalyn on the sport when they were just 9 and 10 years old. In 2020, both were inducted in the NCHA Non-Pro Hall of Fame, which is only for those competitors that have earned an excess of $500,000.
Today, Blakely helps her husband Chet Simoneaux train and show cutting horses. Madalyn Colgrove Coward runs the breeding operation, shows cutting horses and ropes, while husband West works for the family's company, REM Directional Drilling and ropes. Their dad, Joel Colgrove Jr is the president of the REM Directional Drilling, shows cutters and ropes.
3-Time BFI Champion and 15-time NFR qualifier, Charles Pogue trains rope horses for Triple C Performance Horses. The oldest horses by CR Gotcha Covered are 4 years old, their goal is to enter the 2024 Riata Championship.
CR Gotcha Covered is by Dualin Boon X The Catattac by High Brow Cat. The 2012 AQHA stallion is the 2019 NCHA Open World Champion and an earner of over $300,000. He has since retired and now stands at Brazos Valley Stallion Station. His first foal crop hit the ground in 2020 and are making their debut in the futurity arena this year.
Catolena Cashin In is new to the Riata Stallion program. He has an impressive show record with LTE exceeding $423,000. He was inducted into the National Cutting Horse Association's 2023 Horse Hall of Fame and is the 2021 NCHA Super Stakes Open Derby Champion. The 2017 sorrel stallion is by Reyzin The Cash x Dual Catolena, by High Brow Cat was trained and shown by NCHA Hall of Fame trainer, Tarin Rice.
"We got into the Riata because of Madalyn and our dad's passion for roping," said Blakely. "Riata will help our stallions' breeding programs and their offspring. CR Gotcha Covered babies have made us very proud so far, and we are anxious to see how well Catolena Cashin In babies perform in the show arena."
