Riata Title Fights Bonus Winners
Feb 24, 2025
The Ariat WSTR Title Fights made a huge jump in team count
this year with just under 4400 teams and paying over $2M. Congratulations to
Yost Productions on this great event which will no doubt become at least the
third largest WSTR qualifier of the 2025 season. Of course, we can't resist
sticking our chest out with Riata being the richest WSTR qualifier of the year which
will be done with less than half the teams.
The side pot program is an important component of
Riata. These side pot events will be offered
at major events that are streamed with the Title Fights hosting the first Riata
Side Pot Bonus event of 2025. Thirty-one ropers entered the side pot bonus riding
Riata nominated horses. There were only five Riata ropers who roped four steers,
with four receiving bonus checks.
Zane Williams from Hammand, WY, won the 1st place
bonus check of the year heeling on his 6-year-old gelding, Mighty Fine Blu
Boon, by Once In A Blu Boon. He placed 4th place in the #11.5
winning $11,130 plus $4,000 in Riata Bonus money.
2nd place
went to Leo Amado, Tucson, AZ heading on his 12-year-old High Brow Cat rope
horse, "Cats Play More." Leo won $6020
for 8th place in the 9.5 roping, plus a Riata Bonus of $3000.
Todd Graff, Ainsworth, NE headed on Sd Dash to Colonel, an
eight-year-old stallion by Dash Ta Streak. He won 7th in the 12.5
roping winning $5,570 plus an additional $2,000 for his 3rd place Riata
Bonus.
Joe Burk Higgins sealed the 4th place Riata Bonus
of $1000 with a 9th place check of $3720 in the 12.5 roping heeling
on his 8-year-old mare, Im A Lady Every Time, by One Time Pepto.
