Riata Side Pot Wrap-Up – Tunica, MS

Aug 14, 2025

The Riata Side Pot season closed out in style at the WSTR Qualifier in Tunica, Mississippi. Twenty-two ropers entered for a shot at the added money, and thirteen of them left with checks in their pockets. This final stop capped off an incredible 2025 regular side pot season — with roughly $1.2 million in total earnings recorded on Riata horses across just five events this year.

1st – Jayde Slade

Jayde Slade topped the Tunica Side Pot standings aboard Show Me A Browbeater by Mia Browbeater. He picked up $1,310 for second in the 12.5 USTRC and another $2,490 for second and fifth in the 11.5 World Series. Adding in his Riata side pot check, Jayde's weekend haul came to $7,800.

2nd – Kasen Brewer

Riding Jesses Legend out of Jesses Topaz, Kasen Brewer cashed in all over the board — $150 for a fast time in the 13.5 World Series, $560 for third in the 13.5 USTRC, and $2,310 for second in the 10.5 USTRC. With his Riata check, Kasen's total hit $6,020 for the weekend.

3rd – Mike White

Mike White took home $2,910 for winning the 12.5 Bloomer roping aboard Whisk E Myers by Metallic Cat. His $2,000 Riata side pot check brought him to $5,910 in total weekend earnings.

4th – Tanner Caudle

Aboard Mr Canyon Cat by Metallic Cat, Tanner Caudle racked up $635 for first in the 15.5 World Series, $150 for a short-go fast time in the 14.5 World Series, $1,050 for second in the 13 World Series, and $300 for a fast time in the 12.5 Bloomer. His Riata check brought his total to $3,135 for the weekend.

We want to thank everyone who entered a Riata Side Pot in 2025 and congratulate all the winners. Pulling in roughly $1.2 million on just five events is a true testament to the quality of the rope horses and stallions in the Riata program.

And we're not done yet. There's one more special chance for ropers in the East — we're putting up $3,000 to the highest-earning Riata horse at the Fourth Annual Tennessee Special over Labor Day weekend in McDonald, TN. This side pot should give everyone in the east one more chance to qualify for the Riata $100,000 side pot at the Championships. Once that wraps, keep an eye on your inbox for details on entering the $100,000 Riata Side Pot in Guthrie, OK.
