Over the course of the last couple of seasons, the #14.5 ropings at most of the major events around the country have been flat, and in some cases shrinking. That information led us to grossly miscalculate the number of teams that might enter the Riata Buckle #14.5.
If the Pro Futurity ran on Friday as originally scheduled, it would mean 700 teams would be scheduled. We are limited to one arena and therefore, the only option was to move the Pro Futurity one day prior. We considered other options, but other divisions are too large to shift the schedule to accommodate this necessary adjustment. Gaining three and a-half-hours on Friday will make a lot of difference at the end of a full day.
