The Samples family, Mike and Donna along with daughter,
Micah have been breeding horses for 20 years in Abilene, Kansas. With a pasture
full of broodmares, and their cost of breeding fees, they began looking for a
stallion for their breeding program. And in 2017 they purchased Dash Ta
Traffic.
"Dash Ta Traffic had been a futurity barrel horse," says
Micah. "We brought him back to the ranch and went to heeling on him, then
breakaway. He took right to it. He is very cowy and has a big stop."
Dash Ta Traffic has a pedigree for speed and agility. An
own son of Dash Ta Fame and out of French Traffic by Frenchmans Guy. The flashy
brown stallion stands 15.2 hands, with a stout build and a great mind. He is
known for passing along his pretty head, big hip, and balanced conformation to
his offspring. His first foal crop with the Samples hit
the ground in 2018. His offspring have great dispositions and are easy for any
level of rider to get along with. They are very willing and want to please.
The Samples have anywhere from 10 to 20 babies a year by
Dash Ta Traffic. Currently they have a few weanlings and 2-year-olds for sale.
Dash Ta Traffic's offspring are just now showing up in the roping arena.
Wheston Jones won 3rd on Tac No Money (owned by Audry Hart), sired
by Dash Ta Traffic in the Pre-Futurity Heading at the American Rope Horse
Futurity Association's Redbud Spectacular in 2023.
"Dash Ta Traffic has an amazing mind," says Micah. "In the
summer, we gather and ride pastures on him. My Mom and I are the ones that
handle him. He is just a gentleman. He does whatever you ask of him. A month
before the 2023 Riata Buckle, we started heading on him. He's such a natural.
My boyfriend, Coy Arnold, and I both roped on him in the 10.5 and 9.5. Coy made
the short go in the 9.5."
Dash Ta Traffic currently stands at Eight Over Quarter
